The four tidal flats municipalities, Esbjerg, Fanø, Tønder and Varde, which together make up the Culture Region Wadden Sea, would like to invite you to world-class art and culture. H.R.H. Princess Marie is the patroness of the festival, which for the fifth time welcomes adults as well as children.

Artists from a total of 12 different countries have worked with the Danish Wadden Sea area over the past year and by using words, sounds, images and moods, you now have the opportunity to experience their interpretation of the area's culture, nature and identity. An area, which besides being a national park is also designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The heart of the festival is found by Blåvandshuk Fyr (lighthouse) where the international exhibition project Wadden Tide invites you to enjoy experiences in the dunes and on the beach. From this northern point, everyone is encouraged to cast their gaze towards the south where along the entire Danish Wadden Sea coast, an abundance of exciting events are presented in nature, the urban space and culture-historical buildings.

Vadehavsfestival 2016 would like to thank the Region of Southern Denmark, The Wadden Sea National Park as well as other contributors, all of whom are important partners.

Events will take place in the period 1 – 4 September 2016. Exhibitions can be experienced up to 2 October 2016.

Enjoy!
